Prensley
Prensley Jean-Baptiste was born on February 7, 2015, in Cap Rouge, in a locality called Clémence, which belongs to the commune of Cayes-Jacmel in the South-East department of Haiti. He is the son of Elionie Jean-Baptiste, a farmer and merchant. She has two children, but the identity of their father remains unknown.
Prensley lives with his mother in a small house inherited from Elionie’s father. The house, built of cut stone with a tin roof, has two bedrooms. Like most homes in the community, it contains a bed, a table, a few chairs, and basic kitchen utensils.
In Clémence, people cook with wood or charcoal. There is no water supply system: during the rainy season, they collect rainwater, but in times of drought, they must walk several kilometers to fetch water from natural springs, which causes many problems.
As for Prensley, he is enrolled in school and performs very well. He is currently in the 7th grade of fundamental education and is among the best students in Construction on campus. However, his mother’s financial situation is precarious, making it very difficult for her to meet certain obligations. Assistance would be a blessing for this family, especially for Prensley, a promising child who can be considered fatherless, since it is not even known whether his father is alive, and he does not take care of him.
