Cesar

April 11, 2023
Parramos, Guatemala

Cesar Emanuel is a short boy with expressive eyes that reflect his tenderness. He is known for being a friendly and affectionate child, especially with his mother. He enjoys accompanying her to the fields to collect firewood and help with other household chores. Although he still has difficulty pronouncing some words clearly, he strives every day to improve and communicate with those around him.

‍

The López López family faces some challenges, but they continue to work hard to move forward. Mr. Cesar is 40 years old and is currently unemployed due to difficulties related to alcoholism. Despite this situation, he remains involved in the lives of his children. Mrs. Melita, who is 38 years old, is the sole provider for the family. She cares for her children and works at her own tortilla shop, which allows her to earn the income needed to meet the family’s basic needs. Her dedication and commitment reflect the love she has for her children.

‍

The family lives in their own home, which is built of concrete blocks. The house has two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen that is covered only by a roof, as it has no walls and is open to the outdoors. The bedrooms contain three beds and a wardrobe. The family uses a poyo, a traditional cooking stove made from simple materials, to prepare their meals. They also have six plastic benches, but currently, they do not have a dining table or dining room.

‍

Mrs. Melita hopes that little Cesar will have the opportunity to attend AOJ, trusting that this will be a blessing for his development and learning. She dreams of seeing him grow, learn, and have new opportunities for his future.
