Ashly comes from a home where hard work and dedication are part of daily life. Her father, Eric, is 32 years old and works on a vegetable farm to provide for his family. Her mother, María, is 29 years old and stays home to care for her children. She also makes traditional textiles to help contribute to the household income. Ashly's siblings are Damaris, who is 12 years old, and little Rolando, who is seven months old.

The family lives in their own home. The main bedroom is made of sheet metal, and they have a kitchen that was built thanks to a donation. The bedroom has two beds and a wardrobe. The kitchen is equipped with a Guatemalan wood-burning stove and a gas stove for cooking, as well as a table with six chairs.
