Denilson is a kind and cheerful boy with a bright smile. At home, he helps his mother by washing the dishes and cleaning the table. He also enjoys accompanying his grandfather to the fields, where he helps care for the crops.

Denilson is in 5th grade at the AOJ school and works hard to do well in his studies. His mother encourages him to be responsible and make sure all his homework is completed. After school, Denilson likes to take care of his chickens, which he raises and sells to help support his mother.

He is very creative and enjoys art—especially drawing and painting in his free time. He also loves reading new books and learning new things.

Denilson’s father, Mr. Gerver (34), is currently working in another country to help support the family. Although he is far away, he stays in close contact with Denilson and his mother, Mrs. María (35), who works as a teacher in a public school. They are a loving and close-knit family, united by their hope to be together again soon.

They live in a block house equipped with electricity and running water, and they cook using a wood stove.
