Ricardo is a young, living in Cap Rouge, communal section of Jacmel. He is now 10 years old and belongs to a large family of 7 children. His parents, Jean Paul Tanis his father, and Anna Saintilaire , are dedicated farmers who work the land daily to provide for their household. However, because their economic resources are very limited, it is a constant struggle to meet the needs of such a large family through farming alone.

The family resides in a modest three-room house built with concrete blocks and a tin roof. Their home is simply furnished with just a table, chairs, and beds. For their daily chores, they rely on a cistern for water and use wood as fuel for cooking. Although the family faces significant financial hardships and the parents struggle to provide everything the children need, Ricardo remains a healthy and promising young boy.

Currently in the 4th grade, Ricardo is a bright student who performs well in his studies. In his spare time, he enjoys the simple joys of childhood, like playing soccer or marbles. He has great potential, but he is in need of support. Assisting Ricardo would ensure he can  leave a decent live and continue to be happy, providing much-needed relief to his parents as they work to build a future for all 7 of their children.
