Jhounaika Tanis is a girl, who is 14 years old, born on June 17, 2011, in Cap-Rouge communal section of Cayes Jacmel, the Southeast of Haiti.. She is the daughter of Dieumaitre Tanis, her father and Magdala Lagloire,her mother. Both of her parents are farmers who work the land to support their family of three children. Jhounaika lives in Cap-Rouge with both her mother and father. She is currently in 2nd grade and is a very intelligent student, who always passes her classes and does well in school. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her doll.

The family lives in a small stone house with a tin roof and two rooms. Inside, they only have a bed, some chairs, and a cupboard. They use wood for cooking and get their water from a cistern. Despite these difficult living conditions, Jhounaika remains in good health.

However, the family’s economic situation is very limited because their crops are not producing enough to meet the children’s needs. They are facing great financial hardship, and Jhounaika lacks basic necessities like food and school supplies. 

She urgently needs help because her parents can no longer afford to support her education and growth. This assistance is vital to ensure that such an intelligent and hardworking girl has a chance at a better future.
