Cap-Rouge, Haiti

Estephanie is a young girl, living in Cap Rouge, communal section of Jacmel. The south East of Haiti, She is now 10 years old, born on January 3, 2016; she is the heart of a family where hard work and determination are the only means of survival. Her father, Joseph Saül Pierre, and her mother, Smithe Jean Baptiste, and are resilient farmers who spend their days tilling the land. It is from the earth that they scrape together what is needed to sustain their 6 children, though this labor is often not enough to cover the heavy burdens of such a large household.

The family’s economic situation is profoundly challenging. It is a constant battle where the parents strive with very limited means to ensure their children have the essentials, especially an education. They live in a modest three-room house made of concrete blocks with a tin roof. The home is very simple, furnished only with a few beds, a table, and some chairs. Every day requires significant physical effort just to fetch water from a cistern and gather wood for cooking. Despite the harshness of life in this rural area, the family remains united against the weight of poverty

In spite of these obstacles, Estephanie is a bright light. She is a dedicated student who performs exceptionally well in school, always striving to excel in her classes. In her free time, she enjoys playing with dolls or jumping rope, maintaining her childhood innocence despite the difficult reality surrounding her. While she is a healthy child, she is in great need of support. Providing help for Estephanie would be a significant relief for her parents, who are struggling to make ends meet, and it would ensure that this young girl can continue to grow and fulfill her dreams.

Would you be the angel in Estephany's life?
