Angeline

Cap-Rouge, Haiti

Angeline is a young girl , living in Cap Rouge, communal section of Jacmel. The south East of Haiti. She is currently 8 years old. She belongs to a farming family where life requires great sacrifice. Her father, André Jean, and her mother, Ginnette Jean Philippe, work hard in the fields to care for their 6 children. Despite their best efforts, the harvest is not always enough, making the family’s economic situation very fragile.

The family lives in a three-room house built with concrete blocks and a tin roof, which also includes a small porch. The home is furnished with only the essentials : a table, some chairs, beds, and a small cabinet for dishes. They rely on a cistern for water and use wood for cooking. Due to their limited resources, Angeline faces a difficult reality where she doesn’t always have everything she needs to grow up comfortably, and even finding enough food can be a struggle.

Despite these hardships, she remains a healthy child. Angeline is a bright 2nd grade student who performs exceptionally well in school. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her brother and sister. She is a girl full of hope, but the family is in deep need of assistance to keep her in school. Supporting Angeline would be a tremendous help to her parents, who face the immense pressure of caring for 6 children with the very small income they earn from farming.

Would you be the angel in Angeline's life?
