Adeline Jean Pierre is a 10 years old girl living in the area of Cap Rouge, communal section of Jacmel, the south East of Haiti. She is a very hardworking student currently in the 4th grade of fundamental school and performs exceptionally well. Adeline is a child who remains in good health and is full of life. In her free time she loves to play with her sister, demonstrating her close bond with her family.

Her father’s name is Paul Elder and her mother’s name is Yvrose Pierre. They are both farmers who work the land to provide for their family. They have a total of 3 children to support, which requires significant daily effort. Adeline lives with both her mother and father in a stone house with a tin roof. The house consists of only 2 rooms and is modestly furnished with a table, chairs, a bed, and a storage cabinet.

The family’s economic situation is not easy at all as the parents’ resources are far too limited to meet the basic needs of all the children. They live in a difficult environment where they lack the necessary means to provide adequate food for everyone in the household. For their water supply they rely on cisterns and they use wood as their primary fuel for cooking.
